Tutku is a political scientist with two master's degrees: one in Roads to Democracies from the University of Siegen and another in Public and Cultural Diplomacy from the University of Siena.
She is also an honours graduate in International Relations from Middle East Technical University.
Her research centres on political communication and democratic processes, with a particular focus on how political actors and states communicate and disseminate ideas, and how these practices impact democratic processes.
Her theses have explored how public diplomacy contributed to South Korea's democratisation and how populist ideology was expressed in Reform UK's social media communication during the 2024 UK general election.
She has research experience across the EU-funded EnTrust project and CIRCaP in Siena, communication experience at UNDP Türkiye, and teaching experience as a didactic tutor at the University of Siena.
