Thomas König, Nick Lin, and Thiago N. Silva argue that opposition can challenge government agenda dominance in parliaments through the control of committee chairs. This also impacts how coalition partners manage governance.
Professor, University of Mannheim / Speaker of the German Research Foundation’s Collaborative Research Center 884 / Director of EITM Europe
Thomas's research focuses on comparative politics and international relations, with an emphasis on political institutions, parties and voters in European integration, and investigates the empirical implications of game-theoretical models.
In his recent research, Thomas also examines affective polarisation, and the role of coalition governance and opposition in parliamentary democracies.
