Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oslo

Erling was awarded his PhD in Middle East studies from the University of Oslo in 2018.

His research explores social movements among refugees, the internal dynamics of refugee camps, and the post-Oslo dynamics of the Palestinian national movement.

He has conducted extensive field research among Palestinian refugee communities in Lebanon and the West Bank, and his book The Palestinian national movement in Lebanon: a political history of the ‘Ayn al-Hilwe camp comes out on I.B Tauris in summer 2021.
