Christian is also honorary professor at the University of Seychelles and a director of SafeSeas – the network for maritime security.
He holds a PhD from the European University Institute.
Christian is currently leading a research group on ocean infrastructures, funded by the Velux Foundation.
His research is concerned with global ocean governance, maritime security, infrastructures and international relations theory, in particular international practice theory.
