Aleh is a Belarusian researcher focusing on political repression and authoritarian systems.

He is a former political prisoner.

His work examines political repression, forced exile, political prisoners, authoritarian governance mechanisms, and post-repression forms of state control in Belarus.

He is the author of analytical and conceptual publications examining mechanisms of coercion and forced displacement in contemporary authoritarian regimes.

Aleh's professional training includes programmes delivered by UNITAR, ITC-ILO, OSCE, UN DESA, UNEP, and other international institutions in the fields of governance, human rights, migration, anti-corruption, and public policy.
