Proma completed her PhD at the School of Law and Government, Dublin City University, under the EU Marie Curie ETN Global India Fellowship.

Her thesis is titled Gender and Political Parties: Pathways to Women’s Political Participation.

Proma's research interests involve feminist institutionalism, populism, and right-wing politics.

She has published peer-reviewed papers and public articles in several fora.
