Emotions are running high in EU foreign policy – and that's ok

Özlem's research focuses on emotions in foreign policy and EU external relations.

Recently, she has focused on the externalities of the European Green Deal and on the European Arctic region.

With Seda Gürkan and Trineke Palm, Özlem co-edited the special issues Emotions in EUropean Foreign Policy (2021) for Global Affairs and, with Seda Gürkan, The role of emotions in EU foreign policy (2024) for the Journal of European Integration.
