A comparative political scientist, Osman's work focuses on Middle Eastern politics, particularly state dynamics, violent and non-violent non-state actors, social and political movements, migration, democratisation, and Turkish foreign policy.

Osman has authored numerous academic articles, reports, and policy papers for leading institutions, including the Brookings Institution, Valdai Discussion Club, German Marshall Fund, Institute for Strategic Dialogue, and the European Leadership Network.

His scholarly work has been published in journals such as International Migration, Third World Quarterly, and Cambridge Review of International Affairs.

He holds a PhD in Political Science from Bilkent University (2016) and a Master’s degree from the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC (2008).
