Niklas's PhD focuses on the intersection of natural language processing, computational social science and Bayesian statistics.
Concretely, he is interested in measuring latent (often ordinal) intensity concepts such as friend-enemy relationships between entities in text.
Between his PhD, his MSc at University College London and his BSc in Berlin, he spent time working at Bloomberg, IBM, Microsoft Research, the German Foreign Office and Tsinghua University.
