Lida is a sociologist with ten years' professional experience working on women’s rights and gender-based violence in Afghanistan, where she has also been involved in activist campaigns and research.
Her research focuses on qualitative methodologies to uncover the impact of gender-based violence on mental health and the socio-political discourses of sexual violence during armed conflicts.
Lida has published work in international journals such as Journal of Gender Studies, Violence against Women and Humanitarian Exchange among others.
