Katerina's work focuses on European integration, international relations, European political development, and higher education policy.

Her research explores the evolving nature of the European Union, geopolitical transformations in Europe, EU enlargement, democratic governance, and contemporary challenges facing the European project.

She has published in academic journals and policy platforms on European integration, the European Political Community, geopolitics, and enlargement policy.

Katerina has been a visiting PhD researcher at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence and a Fellow at the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU).

Her current research examines Europe's geopolitical self-understanding and the transformation of the European Union as a political actor.
