Prior to this, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow at the University of Oxford and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

Julia is also a Senior Researcher at Ladysmith, a feminist research collective, where she leads the Women, Peace and Security+ portfolio.
