He has a particular interest in the impact of media on the public, the impact of election campaigns on voting behaviour, and the role of issues in voting behaviour and party-political communication strategies.
He has published extensively on these topics in a variety of journals, including Political Communication, the European Journal of Political Research, Public Opinion Quarterly, Communication Research, the International Journal of Public Opinion Research, and Party Politics.
