Her research focuses on the nuclear strategic debate, with a strong emphasis on French nuclear posture and doctrine.

July's work examines issues of nuclear legitimisation, signalling, deterrence, and the acquisition and deployment of nuclear weapons.

Her PhD thesis examines the French nuclear strategic debate from the Cold War to today.
