She has published in leading academic journals, including American Political Science Review, Journal of European Public Policy and West European Politics.

Hilde has been a visiting scholar at several institutions, including University of California (Berkeley and Irvine), University of Sydney, Åbo Akademi University, Helsinki University, SciencesPo Paris, Spanish Scientific Research Institute, Ghent University and the Weizenbaum Institut in Berlin.
