Hugo studied political science and philosophy in Bordeaux, where he obtained his doctorate in 2017 with a thesis on the historical sociology of European integration.
He was a postdoctoral fellow in Hamburg and Brussels, and has been a visiting researcher at the Marc Bloch Centre in Berlin and at the Historical Archives of European Integration in Florence.
His research focuses on the political sociology of European integration, the sociology of economic and legal knowledge, historical sociology and the social history of ideas.
