To kickstart a new round of blogs in the Gendering Democracy series, Paloma Caravantes, Laura Eigenmann and Francesca Feo recap the discussion so far, explaining why we need to keep gender at the centre of research on the politics of our time – and where we should go next
Her research focuses on gender and politics, with particular attention to the politics of gender and LGBTIQ+ policies, gendered organisational cultures across institutions, and the role of conservative and far-right actors in shaping societal polarisation around gender issues.
She holds a PhD in Political Science and Sociology from Scuola Normale Superiore, Florence, where her dissertation analysed institutional resistance to gender and LGBTIQ+ policies in Italy.
Her work has been published, among others, in Politics & Gender, European Journal of Politics and Gender, International Political Science Review, and Politics and Governance.
