Delia also serves as a Vice-Chair of the Communication & Democracy section, the European Communication Research and Education Association and as a Board Member of the Educational Network of the Netherlands – Flanders Communication Association.
Her main research area focuses on digital activism, protest communication and the use of social media in social movements. She is also writing on banal and everyday dimensions of nationalism.
Delia's research has appeared in journals such as New Media & Society, International Journal of Communication, Convergence – The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies, Information, Communication & Society, European Journal of Communication, The Communication Review, Nations and Nationalism and Ethnic and Racial Studies.
She holds a PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Calgary.
