He is conducting his doctoral research on Russian hybrid warfare in Eastern Europe's energy sector at the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen.
In 2024, he taught a BA and MA course in Germany on Russian hybrid warfare in Eastern Europe.
Denis provides consultancy on risk and crisis assessment and strategic communication.
His research covers European integration in Eastern Europe and the geopolitics and geoeconomics of the post-Soviet and Black Sea regions.
Over the past 15 years, Denis has authored more than 300 analytical articles, policy briefs, scholarly articles, book chapters, and reports in English, Russian, Spanish and Romanian.
