Anya's research sits at the intersection of energy politics, geopolitics, and gender, working toward a theory of how discourse, infrastructure, and agency together sustain political order – and legitimate its alternatives – when shared normative frameworks break down.

Her work has appeared in journals including International Feminist Journal of Politics, Feminist Media Studies, European Journal of International Security, Europe-Asia Studies, and Energy Research & Social Science.

She is Co-Chair of the IPSA Research Committee on Gender Politics and Policy and Editor-in-Chief of Politikon: The IAPSS Journal of Political Science.
