Amélie's research examines how political violence and nonviolent contention shape intergroup dynamics, public opinion, and political behaviour.
She is especially interested in the psychological and social mechanisms through which individuals and societies respond to violence and unrest, and in the conditions under which conflict entrenches divisions or creates opportunities for peace.
Methodologically, her work combines survey and experimental methods, quasi-experimental designs, conjoint experiments, meta-analysis, and mixed methods.
Her research has been published in leading journals across political science, peace and conflict studies, and political communication, including the American Journal of Political Science, European Journal of Political Research, Journal of Peace Research, and Journal of Communication.
