Abdullah graduated from Boğaziçi University with a BA in Political Science and International Relations.

His research interests encompass the political economy of authoritarianism, authoritarian resilience, defence industry, and regime security.

His Master's thesis examines the relationship between the rise of the defence industry and authoritarianism in Turkey over the past decade.

Previously, Abdullah served as a research assistant at both the Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) and the Istanbul Political Research Institute (ISTANPOL).

He has also been a teaching assistant at Boğaziçi University.

Abdullah contributes articles on political economy and authoritarianism to various reputable journals.

Alongside his scholarly pursuits, he engages as a political advisor, leveraging his expertise in the field.
