I have come across quite a few Afghan refugees (male) in my country in Europe. What puzzles me how in denial they are. When you ask them about Taliban they are all praises for them. And when you ask about the situation of Afghan women under current Taliban regime, they say things like "they are totally fine and happy". When you criticize Taliban even if subtly and diplomatically, the first thing they mention is that it's just propaganda. What I find even more puzzling is people from neighbouring country Pakistan who have never sat for in Afghanistan nor have had any exposure to Afghans or the Afghan culture also just claim women are doing well and so very happy.

There is propaganda alright. That of Taliban and all their silent followers and allies. God help the Afghan women and girls.
